QC Inspector

Your Mission

QC Inspector monitors, tests, and inspects all processes involved in the production of a product. He/she shall perform 1st off inspections, incoming inspections, final inspections, record dimensions, and initiate NCR reports.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all tasks in a safe & responsible manner, adhering to the Company’s Quality & Safety Procedures.
  • Perform receiving inspections of purchased parts, materials, and services according to company procedures;
  • Performs in-process production inspection and final inspection of the finished product as required by applicable procedures.
  • Perform LPI inspection of parts per SNT-TC-1A procedure
  • Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
  • Identify, isolate and report non-conforming products to the QA Manager.
  • Take direction and instruction from the Lead Inspector.
  • Consistently displays a sense of urgency in meeting all deadlines and goals, keeping in mind that quality and timeliness are of paramount importance to management and our customers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience as QC Inspector in a machine shop environment.
  • SNT-TC-1A LPI working experience (500hrs+)
  • Preference with related API Q1 working experience.
  • Must have a detailed knowledge of measurement instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
  • Ability to follow job traveler instructions.
  • Effectively communicate & understand job instructions both verbally & written in the English language.
  • Must have knowledge of basic use of hand or air tools to mount/dismount product.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical computations.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to operate a Forklift abiding by all Safety Regulations.
  • Must be able to pass annual eye examinations.

Physical

  • The employee is regularly required to stand for a prolonged period of time.
  • The employee must have a full range of mobility in the upper and lower body, be able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle/feel objects, tools or controls.
  • The employee must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste.
  • The employee must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. maximum; frequent lifting and/or carrying up to 20 lbs.; be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks

Remuneration:  in the range of $20-$25 per hour depending on qualifications and experience; Employee Compensation Package which includes Health, Dental and Life Insurance after a successful 3-month probationary period.

CNC Operator

Permanent Full-Time

Location: Edmonton, AB

For over 3 decades, CRC Wellhead Supply Co Ltd in Edmonton has been the industry-leading supplier of select wellhead parts and equipment for custom projects across North America.  We are a medium size machine shop in the southeast of Edmonton and currently have 30 full-time staff.  We are currently looking for 2 CNC Operators to fill the vacancy within our team – 1 on a day shift and 1 on a night shift. This position requires highly motivated and versatile persons. 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

  • Perform set-ups on the CNC machine according to the production schedules.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe & responsible manner, adhering to the Company’s Quality & Safety Procedures.
  • Produce machined parts by operating a CNC machine; maintaining quality & safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment & supplies.
  • Use gages & measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
  • Recognize, deploy and properly use inserts, fixtures & tooling.
  • Set up mills & lathes by installing & adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices.
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.
  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, & cutting, including turning, facing, deburr, and threading; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions’ troubleshooting processes; adhering to quality assurance procedures & processes.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting & communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Consistently display a sense of urgency in meeting all deadlines and goals, keeping in mind that quality and timeliness are of paramount importance to management and our customers.
  • Must keep workstation and equipment clean daily & maintenance up to date.
  • Assist other CNC Operators with repairs or replacement work if necessary.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Trade Certification is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with CNC machines
  • Must have Basic hand tools and mechanical knowledge.
  • Must have experience with tolerances (+/- .001).
  • Must be familiar with Fanuc, G-codes, M-codes, lathes, and mills.
  • Must be able to understand and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Must be able to effectively change machinery for multiple set-ups & make minor modifications.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail & communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios & proportions to situations.
  • Must have the ability to read & interpret manufacturing drawings.
  • Ability to operate Forklift abiding by all Safety Regulations

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The employee is regularly required to stand for a prolonged period of time.
  • The employee must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. maximum; frequent lifting and/or carrying up to 20 lbs.; be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.

 POSITION DETAILS

  • Day Shift – Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Overtime and Saturday Shift may be required dependent on Business conditions
  • Night Shift – Monday to Thursday 4:30 pm to 2:30 am. (premium pay)
  • Employee Compensation Package after a successful 3-month probationary period.
  • Wage is negotiable based on experience.
